Courtyard
Our courtyard was designed to be the focus of our house with living revolved around the space.
To achieve an integrated indoor outdoor feel in the area our focus was on creating a seamless transition between flooring. Although more work, we made sure we set down our interior timber flooring to run inline with the polished concrete slab and then set down our deck to run at the same level as both the timber interior floor and the polished concrete.
Rebating our windows into the slab and using horizontal steel supports to allow for a post free fully open sliders was well worth the extra hours of work.
