This was a very exciting project for Glenn and I, designing and building a nursery for our first baby.
The nursery design started off with the wallpaper selection, I fell in love with this whimsical ocean inspired wallpaper and from there the rest of the selections followed.
Like most of our personal projects I selected wall paneling from Easycraft this time selecting the Silhouette profile which I absolutely love, it has a much deeper profile than a straight VJ which added a heap of texture to the room. I chose a blue paint to match in with the darkest blue in the wallpaper creating a gradient down the wall.
The second colour used throughout the nursery design was a soft brown to match in with the furniture, spotted gum flooring, tiled benchtop and cabinetry. We painted the ceiling in this colour also to create a sense of calm.
We used a variety of our own design products including leather handles, leather strap shelves, leather hanging rail and a custom book ledge.
The curtains, a real hero in the space were in a Mokum, James Dunlop fabric and installed by Jan Murphy Designs. I loved selecting a thicker material for this room. You can read more about the curtain selection- here
